Solutions for When the App Store Cannot Update Apps
After getting a newly purchased ID and logging in successfully, when updating apps, you may see prompts like this account has been disabled, account not activated, account locked, or incorrect password. What should we do?
Apps must be updated with the same Apple account used to download them
For example:
If you downloaded [WeChat] with [Apple Account A], then every future update of [WeChat] will require logging into [Account A] in the App Store to update. If you are currently logged into [Apple Account B] in the App Store and tap update, it will still prompt you to log into [Apple Account A] to complete the update. Therefore, if you tap to update an app (English: Update) and various error messages appear, including but not limited to
This account has been disabled, account not activated, account locked, incorrect password, or other error messages...
Regardless of the prompt, it is an issue with [Apple Account A], the account originally used to download the app, and has nothing to do with the account you are currently logged into.
Solution
Log into [Apple Account A], the ID originally used to download the app, to update it. Alternatively, delete the old version and download it again with a new account (if it is a paid app, make sure the new account can download that paid app).
Not sure if the app was downloaded with the purchased account
The simplest way is to use the purchased account to download any free app from the App Store that is not currently on your phone, as long as it is not an update. If it downloads successfully, it means the app you need to update was not downloaded with the account you are currently logged into.
